“answers to questions” in today’s world

The reputation of Ronald O. Perelman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MacAndrews and Forbes Incorporated, precedes him as a global business leader who through MacAndrews & Forbes acquires and manages a diversified portfolio of public and private companies in such industries as consumer products, entertainment, financial services, biotechnology and gaming.

Mr. Perelman, directly and through his affiliates, is also firmly committed to philanthropy, focusing on health, education and the arts. Hi is also dedicated to promoting, enhancing and strengthening Jewish living through his partnership in the work of the Lubavitcher Rebbe and of Chabad-Lubavitch worldwide. As the Rebbe wrote to him in 5749 (1989) “I thank you for your part in this partnership, a “part” which – as in true partnership – is more than a slice of the whole, but actually a share in the  whole.”

Mr. Perelman serves as National Chairman of American Friends of Lubavitch, and actively supports the international Chabad-Lubavitch movement which runs over 3,300 centers throughout the United States and across the world.

Klal Yisrael Fund

Nearly 30 years ago, in 5747 (1986) Mr. Perelman was largely responsible for launching the Rebbe’s “14 Million Klal Yisroel Fund” – an effort to embrace all of the world’s 14 million living Jews (may their number increase) – by contributing 18¢ for every man, woman and child.

Campus Chomesh

He is also credited with making possible Campus Chomesh, home of the Beth Rivkah Schools and flagship of the Chabad-Lubavitch educational system which educates thousands of Jewish girls. Campus Chomesh is the fountainhead from which the shluchos – Chabad women emissaries – receive their education and preparation for a lifetime dedicated to the needs of far-flung Jewish communities the world over.

Shlichus Birthright Program

In Kislev, 5765 (November 2004) Mr. Perelman partnered with Agudas Chassidei Chabad  to create the Shlichus Birthright Program, which awarded 20 young couples with half the seed money needed for the first two years of operating their newly opened Chabad-Lubavitch centers. This program was created in order to help ‘potential’ shluchim realize that potential.

The Rebbe’s Partnership Foundation

On Erev Lag B’omer, 5773, (April 26 2013), the 24th anniversary of receiving the Rebbe’s historic letter defining the role of the special partnership between the Rebbe and Mr. Perelman, the Rebbe’s Partnership Foundation was created to further strengthen and perpetuate this unique relationship.

The Rebbe’s Partnership Foundation, founded by Mr. Ronald Perelman and Rabbi Abraham Shemtov, chairman of Agudas Chassidei Chabad and longtime personal shliach of the Rebbe to Mr. Perelman, will continue to fund the Rebbe’s global efforts initially through providing financial assistance for new shluchim establishing new Chabad-Lubavitch Centers, as well as providing financial assistance to Chabad-Lubavitch Centers that have experienced unexpected and extraordinary increases in operating expenses due to health related issues or educational needs of its shluchim and volunteers.
